Goal summary
An opportunity for 150 street children of the Pardeshi community in Mumbai to design and tailor their own clothes for the various festivals in India held throughout the year.
Project summary
This project not only teaches useful life skills that may help generate income, but also gives these children a sense of accomplishment after completing their garments. And of course, it is a fun and engaging activity for the children as well.
How
Create a fun experience where the children will design and tailor their very own garments. Furthermore, working alongside the charity Tiny Miracles, this project will be a step towards lifting this community out of poverty into a middle class neighborhood within the next 10 years. By 2020, the goal is for this community to be relatively self-sufficient, have acceptable educational programmes, accessible healthcare and increased average incomes.

Why (Project owners drive)
I founded the Tiny Miracles Foundation in 2010. Next to my job at ABN AMRO Bank i (voluntarily) spend a lot of my free time to make a great success of Tiny Miracles. Because life is a series of tiny miracles.

Phases
-
Get the tailor in
- Ok, we have 150 children. For a good outfit it will cost us 600 rupees per child (=9 euro) so total 9*150 = EUR 1,350. Only thing is timing. I want to plan it during Christmas Holidays at least there is some excitement (and children go to school 6 days a week)
