HOME OF HOPE TUKTUK
The project owner
Rebecca Bijker
Location
- Kandy
- Sri Lanka
Goal summary
Providing transport for our youngest children of the orphanage so they may get to school every morning safely.
Project summary
The children that live at the Home of Hope come from war-affected areas of Sri Lanka or from abusive home situations. Our primarily concern is to give them a safe home, but we also want to give them the possibility to attend a regular school. A TukTuk would completely solve our transportation issues!
How
One TukTuk can bring 8 small kids to school in one ride. The TukTuk will ransport the smallest orphaned children safely from the Home of Hope in Sri Lanka to school every morning. This vehicle will also be used for children who are in need of quick and speedy access to medical care.

Why (Project owners drive)
The last ten years we have built Home of Hope up, so it is now a 'children's village' where almost 100 kids find a safe home. We now want to go further and get them all to school - we need a tuk-tuk to get the small ones to school!
